Spent some time constructing my humongous PRD 2971 diffuser. Most important part was keeping the slices in the correct order. To ensure true diffusion it was calculated in such a way that there is no repetition whatsoever in height differences between each column. After all the work getting the design right, the last thing I want to do is to mess it up in the end by mixing up two plates.
Although I chose a high quality of polystyrene it still is very brittle and the high quality stuff also weighs a lot more than your average polystyrene you’ll commonly find in packaging. So I made it in two halfs to be able to carry to the mastering room without breaking my back or diffuser.
